AIM News Aerosonic Expands its International Reach Receiving Order for Air Data Systems from Korean Aerospace Company
CLEARWATER, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aerosonic Corporation (AMEX:AIM), a leading supplier of precision flight
products for commercial, business and military aircraft, today announced
that Avionics Specialties, Inc., Aerosonic’s
wholly-owned subsidiary, has received a $7.5 million order from Korea
Aerospace Industries Limited (“KAI”)
to supply air data systems that include its integrated multifunction
probe (“IMFP”) and
related equipment for the production of KAI’s
T50 aircraft. Shipments to KAI are expected to occur over a three-year
period beginning in September 2007.
The IMFP provides angle of attack, air data sensing and pressure sensing
for military aircraft in one probe, reducing the flight management
system complexity on military aircraft, and is currently installed on
the KAI T50 military trainer as well as the F16 Block 60 jet fighter and
the M346 military trainer.
“We are pleased to have secured this order
from KAI for delivery of our air data systems for their T50 program,”
commented David Baldini, Chairman, President and Chief Executive
Officer. “This order provides us with further
market penetration for one of our technologically advanced products in a
growing segment of the military market, and further strengthens our
relationship with a valued customer.”
