BGO News Bango Announces Ad-Launchpad - Mobile Advertising Initiative Delivers Highly Targeted Results and Helps Eliminate Click Fraud
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Bango today announces Ad-Launchpad, a mobile advertising initiative that
gives brands and content providers a direct way of finding the right
advertising partners and receiving highly targeted results from their
promotional campaigns. adhoc mobile, AdMob, JumpTap, MADS, ScreenTonic
and Third Screen Media are already supporting this initiative with
further partners to be announced over the coming weeks.
$16.7 billion was spent on online advertising in the US alone and
represents 5% of all advertising spend, according to eMarketer. With
more consumers accessing the internet from their mobile than a PC,
mobile advertising is forecast to become mainstream by 2008 (Visiongain).
Advertising on mobile is much more targeted than on the web because
handsets are personal and it is possible to identify users along with
their phones, operators and countries to deliver customized advertising.
Mobile advertising is also more cost effective as this identification
helps to eliminate click fraud – one of the
most damaging aspects of web advertising today.
“Bango enables content providers to identify
and track the traffic generated from advertising campaigns so they can
better understand what works best,“ said Ray
Anderson, Bango CEO and co-founder. “We have
tools that allow advertising clicks to be verified as originating from
real users so non-typical activities such as click fraud are identified
and prevented.”
How Ad-Launchpad Works
Bango Ad-Launchpad, scheduled to be available in Q4 2006, will make it
easy for content providers to capitalize on the growing use of the
internet from mobiles. They simply register their services at www.bango.com,
select the advertising sources they want to use, determine the level of
investment they want to make and activate the service.
With the Ad-Launchpad program, content providers will be able to
reinvest revenue from content sales into their advertising programs.
Bango will provide the advertising partner with details about the
content provider enabling them to take the order.
This latest Bango initiative taps into the appetite for mobile
advertising by leading brands. Mobile is the ideal channel for
advertising because it can deliver more targeted results than
traditional web advertising. The advertisement can be targeted to users
in certain countries and on specific networks, or to particular handset
makes and types.
