DSG News Eastman Kodak Successfully Deploys Descartes' Visibility & Event Management Solution to Improve Delivery Productivity and Performance

Descartes' Visibility & Event Management solution is an on-demand, web-based solution designed to work across enterprises, geographies and transportation modes. The solution provides a framework that allows users and their trading partners to monitor, measure, query and report on order and shipment information down to the line-item level. Descartes' Visibility & Event Management solution leverages the GLN - one of the world's largest multimodal networks of transportation and logistics services providers, and their customers.

Kodak's Americas Logistics Division uses Descartes' Visibility & Event Management solution to support deliveries to its key customers in the United States and to its manufacturing plants around the globe. Using Descartes' GLN and its connections to Kodak's global trading partners and logistics services providers, Kodak can have their regional and global supply chain event information delivered to a single centralized source. Kodak currently uses the GLN to manage over two million business documents a month including customer purchase orders, order changes, inventory replenishments worldwide, shipment statuses and internal warehouse receipts. The Visibility & Event Management solution then uses the information in these business documents to provide Kodak with visibility to the status of deliveries; and to measure, evaluate, and monitor delivery performance to its customers. This "scorecarding" helps Kodak proactively address delivery performance issues and reduce charge-backs from customers.
