The Indigenous Summit, slated for 1 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., will focus on minority owned businesses contribution to a green environment and the future of environmental and economic opportunities for Indigenous and multi-ethnic communities worldwide. The Indigenous Summit topics include discussions on advancements in solar, wind, bio-mass and hydrogen and the economics of green programs in the world. The summit will also host panel discussions on clean energy programs, working on an international multi-cultural institute and the future of environmental economic programs for Indigenous peoples worldwide. The World Environment Day will welcome more than 60 mayors from the world's largest and most environmentally significant cities, including London, Zurich, Buenos Aires, Jakarta, Delhi, Kabul, and Manila. The conference starts on June 1 and concludes June 5 with the mayors signing seven Urban Environmental Accords covering urban design, transportation, energy, open space, recycling, health, and water. The City of San Francisco, the host city of World Environmental Day, is also in the process of exploring new purchase ordinances that would favor green products that could affect approximately $600 million in annual City purchases according to a recent press article.
