The first task under this appointment is the Beijing ChaoYang District where Beijing Ren Ren has planned for 384 outdoor billboards/signs and to date, has received approval from for 87 outdoor billboards/signs from the Beijing Municipal Government. This is a significant first move by Beijing Ren Ren and the Company to realize the revenue potential of the outdoor billboard advertising.
Mr. Con Unerkov, Chairman of China Media Group, stated, "We are excited to have the opportunity to begin working with Beijing Ren Ren, prior to our completion of the acquisition of Good World Investments Limited, Beijing Ren Ren's holding company. Beijing ChaoYang District is our first high-profile location where majority of the foreign consulates and the 2008 Olympics sites are located. This is very high-profile district and the ideal first location for China Media Group to initiate the Great Wall of China Project. We view the initial current 87 placement locations more valuable as the Olympics approaches." Beijing ChaoYang District is approximately 470 sq km and has about 2.585 million residents. Details of the ChaoYang District can be found at http://bci.bjchy.gov.cn/
Beijing Ren Ren has been granted a nationwide advertising license in China covering the media of television, newspaper, magazine, outdoor billboards and internet, and through advertising these media, is working with the Chinese Government to promote health education and awareness under a national program called Great Wall of China Project. Mr. MEI Hong Bo, the Chief Executive of China Health Foundation, a government entity under the Ministry of Health of China, stated that, "Advertising in districts across China is an important part of the Great Wall of China's Program and this has started in Beijing ChaoYang District according to our planned activities. China Media Group Corporation Enters Non-Binding Sale and Purchase Agreement for Good World Investments Limited
China Media Group Corporation (OTC BB: CHMD) announces that it has entered into a Non-Binding Agreement for the Sale and Purchase of Shares of Good World Investments Limited ("GWI") and a subscription of New Shares in the capital of CMG with Central High Limited representing 100% of the issued and outstanding shares of GWI in exchange for 50,000,000 new common CMG Shares to be issued to CHL.
CHL who is the registered holder and beneficial owner of 50,000 issued shares in the capital of GWI to be sold to CMG as part of the Purchase Agreement.
GWI has entered into a conditional agreement to acquire 50% of Beijing Ren Ren Health Culture Promotion Limited, which has been granted a nationwide advertising license in China covering the media of television, newspaper, magazine, outdoor billboards and internet, and through advertising these media, is working with the Chinese Government to promote health education and health awareness.
Mr. Con Unerkov, Chairman of China Media Group, stated, "We are thrilled and delighted to have the opportunity to participate in such an exciting company and project like Beijing Ren Ren Health Culture Promotion Limited. The Chinese economy is currently experiencing an exceptional amount of growth and is expected to continue in the lead-up to the Olympic Games and the World Expo in 2008 and 2010, respectively."
"China's advertising industry is currently ranked 3rd largest in the world and we believe it will become the 2nd largest within 5 years due to its economic growth and the 2008 Olympics held in Beijing. The media industry in China is more liberalized but remains the most restricted sector among China's various consumer industries."
According to ZenithOptimedia, China's total advertising growth is expected to compound annually at a rate of approximately 16% from 2004 to 2007. Moreover China's ad spent as a percentage of GDP is 0.56 which is lower than the average in Asia of 1.12, so there is tremendous growth ahead in the advertising sector.
Beijing Ren Ren has undertaken on behalf of the Chinese Government to manage the Great Wall of China Project -- a national program that promotes health education to the people of China. As part of the national project, Ren Ren has been allocated at least 3 outdoor signs/billboards in each city, and this represents thousands of signs for our company going forward. The outdoor billboard is a USD1.4 billion industry in 2004 and represents about 9% of the total advertising industry. As an indication of the size of potential, recently it was reported that two-year rights for 29 billboards along the outer district of Beijing city boosted municipal revenue by RMB26.5 million (or US$3.2 million)*. Mr. Unerkov added, "This means a tremendous amount of advertising work and potential revenue for our company for just the outdoor media alone; we still have the television, newspaper, magazines and Internet to work on."
In addition to the above outdoor billboards, Ren Ren has also been given the right to advertise inside and outside of hospitals in China. This gives a strategic platform to work with pharmaceutical companies and health organizations to advertise health education, awareness, and disease prevention. In 2003, advertising for medication, medical services and medical appliances represented about 12%, 5% and 3% respectively, of the total advertising revenue spend for that year. This represented in aggregate of about 20% of the total advertising revenue. Ren Ren is positioned to capture some of the increases in advertising spending in this health and medical sector as advertising industry in general increases.
"The contract also contains provisions for Ren Ren to advertise in residential estates. In China, each residential estate has an advertising board. Ren Ren has the right to put up advertising signs on these boards to reach the masses."
"We look forward to the completion of the transaction and to raise capital necessary to undertake the advertising programs above with Ren Ren and its associates in promoting advertising for health education in China."
Mr. Pui Kit Lam, Chairman of Beijing Ren Ren stated, "We are delighted to work with China Media Group on the Great Wall of China project. China Media Group will bring invaluable contacts outside of China to further our objectives of creating health awareness through education. What better way than advertising through the various media in China. We look forward to completion of the transaction and to work with quality people that make up China Media Group."
