Ocean Wave Energy Converter
The ocean energy device generates electricity from the ocean wave
oscillation. The device unfolds from the wave action and completely
unfolds when the waves are large or the tide is high making electricity
as the buoy move up and down. The Lever Operated Pivoting Float was developed by Christopher Olson who has made 56 ocean energy converter prototypes so far.

The
LOPF is an ocean buoy that creates electricity when lifted by an ocean
wave. The most important advantage is that it is anchored taut with a
fixed length cable and any upward movement of the float will activate
the generator inside the device. The LOPF on the 150kW scale can adjust
for big tidal changes while being anchored taut with a fixed length
cable. The LOPF is like a “see saw” with a heavy generator on one end
and the anchor on the other. When the ocean wave gets too big the float
rotates on its end and is submerged. It works great in small and large
waves. Strong current or wave direction have little effect on the
device.
The2000 watt ocean wave energy device will be deployed soon.

Above right is a demonstration of bringing ocean wave energy to shore
and lighting a 12 foot tall Christmas tree at the Flagship Hotel on the beach. It could be seen for a mile.
Above and below is the wave energy buoy that is in the water now and should be there for 24 months.
Oct. 16 the buoy was removed after three and a half months and is in
excellent working condition and will be redeployed in the same
condition.
