The Mosaic Company, through its subsidiaries, engages in the production, blending, and distribution of crop nutrient and animal feed products. It operates in four segments: Phosphates, Potash, Offshore, and Nitrogen. The Phosphates segment owns and operates mines and concentrates plants in Florida that produce phosphate fertilizer and feed phosphate, and concentrates plants in Louisiana that produce phosphate fertilizer. The Potash segment mines, processes, and distributes potash in Canada and the United States. The Offshore segment consists of sales offices, fertilizer blending and bagging facilities, port terminals, and warehouses in various countries, as well as production facilities in Brazil, China, and Argentina. It produces and distributes blended fertilizers, as well as operates phosphate and nitrogen processing plants in Brazil, diammonium phosphate granulation plant near Kunming in the Yunnan Province in China, and granulated single superphosphate plant located in Quebracho, Argentina. The Nitrogen segment produces and distributes anhydrous ammonia, granular urea, feed grade urea, and urea ammonium nitrate solution. The company markets its products primarily to wholesalers, cooperatives, independent retailers, and national accounts. The Mosaic Company operates in the United States, Canada, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, India, Thailand, and the People’s Republic of China. The company was incorporated in 2004 and is based in Plymouth, Minnesota.
