Superior Energy Services, Inc. provides oilfield services and equipment focusing on serving the drilling and production-related needs of oil and gas companies primarily in the United States. It operates through five segments: Well Intervention Services, Rental Tools, Marine Services, Other Oilfield Services, and Oil and Gas Operations. The Well Intervention Services segment provides coiled tubing, electric wireline, mechanical wireline, pumping and stimulation, artificial lift, well control, snubbing, recompletion, engineering, and well evaluation services. The Rental Tools segment manufactures, sells, and rents equipment for use with offshore and onshore oil and gas well drilling, completion, production, and workover activities. Its rental tools include pressure control equipment, specialty tubular goods, connecting iron, handling tools, drill pipe, bolting equipment, power swivels, stabilizers, drill collars, and on-site accommodations. The Marine Services segment owns and operates a fleet of liftboats. It operated a fleet of 36 liftboats, including 10 liftboats configured specifically for wireline services and 26 in its rental fleet, as of December 31, 2005. The Other Oilfield Services segment provides platform and field management services to the offshore and onshore oil and gas industry, including property management, engineering services, operating labor, transportation, tools and supplies, technical supervision, maintenance, supplemental personnel, and logistics services. It also provides environmental cleaning services, including tank and vessel cleaning; and other services, including the manufacture and sale of drilling rig instrumentation, electronic torque, and pressure control equipment. The Oil and Gas Operations segment owns and operates mature oil and gas properties in the Gulf of Mexico. The company was founded in 1991 and is headquartered in Harvey, Louisiana.
