MIV Therapeutics Inc. is engaged in the development of medical devices for use in cardiovascular and other medical procedures. The Company, along with its wholly owned subsidiary, MIVI Technologies Inc., has developed a coronary stent for use in angioplasty procedures. MIV Therapeutics is also developing a ceramic coating technology that will be used to manufacture a range of biocompatible coatings for stent and medical devices. The Company's laser-cut stents are balloon-expandable; have flexible slotted tube design, and are made of biocompatible 316 low-vacuum melted stainless steel. The stents are mounted on balloons, and the resulting stent and delivery system are sterilized and packaged as a single unit. MIV Therapeutics' laser-cut stent and stent delivery system, is specifically designed and engineered to be used as a drug and/or therapeutics delivery platform to combat cardiovascular disease, including restenosis.
