Pacific Biometrics, Inc. (PBI) provides specialty central laboratory services to support pharmaceutical and diagnostic manufacturers in the conduct of human clinical research for use in their drug discovery and development efforts. The Company's specialty areas include cardiovascular disease, such as dyslipidemia, atherosclerosis and coronary heart disease, and diabetes, obesity and bone and joint diseases, such as osteoporosis and arthritis. PBI also has central laboratory capability and provides full-service central laboratory support for multi-center clinical trials, including routine safety lab tests, such as general chemistry, hematology and urinalysis. The Company provides specialty reference and central laboratory services to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. It also acts as a subcontractor for large central laboratories for its specialty reference laboratory services. During fiscal 2004, the Company formed a new wholly owned subsidiary, PBI Technology, Inc.
