ABIOMED, Inc. develops, manufactures and markets medical products designed to assist or replace the pumping function of the failing heart. The Company's AB5000 Circulatory Support System is a heart assist product model introduced during the fiscal year ended March 31, 2004 (fiscal 2004), which incorporates a number of features to facilitate patient mobility and transport and to meet the needs of physicians and hospitals treating heart assist patients. ABIOMED's AbioCor Implantable Replacement Heart, a battery-powered implantable replacement heart system, is the subject of an ongoing initial clinical trial. The product revenues accounted for 97.4% of the Company's total revenues for fiscal 2004.
