Consumer Medicines provides consumer health care products for headache relief, analgesics, cold, cough, flu, and moisturizers, as well as for diabetics. BMS has strategic alliances with Sanofi-Aventis; Otsuka Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.; ImClone Systems Incorporated; and Sankyo Company, Ltd. The company through a collaboration agreement with Merck & Co., Inc. codevelops and copromotes muraglitazar, its dual peroxisome proliferator activated receptor agonist. The company was incorporated in 1933 under the name Bristol-Myers Company and changed its name to Bristol-Myers Squibb Company in 1989. Bristol-Myers is headquartered in the New York City.
