FRPT News: Force Protection Marks Delivery of 200th Buffalo Vehicle
Force Protection, Inc. (NASDAQ:FRPT stock) today marked delivery of the 200th
Buffalo mine-protected route clearance vehicle for use in the wars in
Iraq and Afghanistan.
The Buffalo was first deployed in Afghanistan in 2003 with the U.S. Army
Corps of Engineers, and is the only vehicle to fill the military’s
Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) Category III program requirement.
“We are pleased to note the critical role the
Buffalo has long filled for our armed forces,”
said Force Protection President and CEO Michael Moody. “As
we acknowledge this milestone today we reaffirm our commitment to build
the finest protected vehicles in the world.”
Buffalo vehicles have been used to clear thousands of miles of dangerous
roads and open safe passage for troop convoys and other vehicles.
