Adobe Systems Incorporated (NASDAQ: ADBE) recently announced that the E-3A department of North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), with its headquarters in Brussels, Belgium, plans to adopt Adobe(R) Flex(TM) software and Adobe LiveCycle Data Services ES for its new Mission Support System (MSS). The system will help improve NATO's operational readiness, by reducing the time to prepare for missions, and improve the delivery of information to flight crew members. Adobe Flex technology is an open source development framework for fast, end-to-end development of rich Internet applications (RIA) that run identically on all major browsers and operating systems.
A survey released recently by Compuware Corporation (NASDAQ: CPWR) and the Ponemon Institute showed an overwhelming majority of organizations surveyed risk compromising critical information by using actual customer data for the development and testing of applications. The Insecurity of Test Data: The Unseen Crisis report found that 62 percent of companies surveyed use actual customer data instead of disguised data to test applications during the development process. Of those companies using actual customer data, 89 percent use customer files and 74 percent use customer lists.
