Amgen Hires Former Clinton Aide to Lobby and Gilead Seeks Aztreonam Lysine Approval

Biotechnology company Gilead Sciences Inc. (NASDAQ: GILD) said recently it has asked the Food and Drug Administration to approve its aztreonam lysine inhaled cystic fibrosis treatment. The drug is intended to be administered three times per day, at 75-milligram doses. Cystic fibrosis is a chronic, genetic disease in which thick, sticky mucus in the lungs traps bacteria, predisposing patients to lung infections.

Aida Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (OTCBB: AIDA) recently announced that it has filed its form 10Q for the period ended September 30, 2007. Net revenues totaled $7,373,770 for the quarter ended 9/20/07, an increase of 5% over the same period in 2006. Gross profit decreased by 2.66% due to an increase in Costs of Goods Sold. Most notably, sales from Aida's transfusion and injection forms of etimicin sulfate increased markedly.
