CALL News CallWave Announces Wireless Industry's First Visual Voicemail Widget
SANTA BARBARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--CallWave, Inc. (NASDAQ:CALL) today announced the industry’s
first visual voicemail widget – a free,
desktop-based application enabling users to see and hear their mobile
phone voicemail messages right on their PC or Mac desktop.
“This widget demonstrates CallWave’s
commitment to simple and innovative uses of the PC as a companion to the
mobile phone,” said David Hofstatter, Chief
Executive Officer for CallWave. “We believe
Web 2.0 widgets are an explosive channel for delivering cutting edge
software and services to end users. They are extremely simple to
download and this one creates an innovative new way to check mobile
voicemail. We are pleased to introduce the industry’s
first visual voicemail widget through Yahoo! Widgets.”
CallWave’s Visual Voicemail widget provides a
visual notification when new messages arrive, whether a user’s
handset is nearby or not. With this widget running in the Yahoo! Widget
Engine, users can view a list of callers, message lengths and when the
call was received. Users can then choose which messages to listen to
first. The widget is currently available on Yahoo! Widgets at http://widgets.yahoo.com/gallery/view.php?widget=41120.
Hofstatter continued, “For mobile phone users
who also use the web each day, our intuitive visual voicemail widget
delivers invaluable ease and efficiency –
making the PC a natural companion to the mobile phone.”
About the CallWave Visual Voicemail Widget
The CallWave Visual Voicemail widget is the simplest way to experience
CallWave’s visual voicemail service and
elevates voicemail management to new levels of ease. The service enables
users to view their list of mobile voicemail messages and then sort,
prioritize and listen to these messages, right from their PC –
without switching service providers, purchasing a new handset or
changing their mobile phone number. When not at the computer, users are
notified of mobile voicemail messages via a detailed SMS sent to the
handset. Users can still check their voicemail from their mobile phone.
The visual voicemail service is currently available on popular service
providers, including Cingular™, Verizon™
and T-Mobile™.
CallWave is leading the way in developing applications that make phones
and PCs work better together. With CallWave, tasks that are difficult to
do on the phone become much easier on the desktop –
without changing phone numbers or adding any equipment. CallWave enables
mainstream consumers and small businesses to get more out of the devices
they use each day – their landline, PC and
mobile phone. CallWave also private-labels PC-based voice applications
to service providers, so this community can deliver visual voicemail
solutions to their customers – reducing churn
and driving revenue through new landline, Internet and mobile
convergence applications. Founded in 1998, CallWave is headquartered in
Santa Barbara, California. For further information, please visit www.callwave.com.
