SBUX News Starbucks Takes Customization From Cup To Clothing
SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--In addition to personalizing any beverage according to their favorite tastes, Starbucks (Nasdaq:SBUX) customers will now be able to wear their favorite drink on their shirt. From Feb. 15 through Feb. 28, customers can order a free, one-of-a-kind “My Starbucks” T-shirt, designed by top designer Mychael Knight, to represent their favorite Starbucks® beverage. Mychael Knight was a finalist from the hit Bravo TV show “Project Runway” produced by the Weinstein Company. A limited number of shirts will be free of charge while quantities last, for additional information go to www.Starbucks.com beginning Thursday, Feb. 15.
Starbucks teamed with Mychael Knight to create the personalized “My Starbucks” line of T-shirts to showcase how easy and fun it is to customize a Starbucks® beverage such as adding an extra espresso shot or requesting nonfat milk. This collaboration is founded on a shared commitment to innovation and shows customers that customization is not just integral to fashion; it’s inherent to the Starbucks Experience.
Mychael Knight, best known for being a “fan favorite” by millions of “Project Runway”viewers, has quickly become a top designer whose work has been seen on the likes of Queen Latifah, Ciara, and Jagged Edge. His custom-designed, 100 percent certified organic cotton and eco-friendly T-shirts manufactured by HT Naturals will feature icons that represent individuals’ Starbucks beverage choices, such as a nonfat, no whip Cinnamon Dolce Latte with sugar-free syrup.
Even before the T-shirts became available to the public, Starbucks offered several illustrious coffee devotees the chance to receive a customized T-shirt. Numerous Starbucks fans have been seen sporting these unique T-shirts including Jessica Biel (“Home of the Brave”) - a Grande Cappuccino fanatic, Hayden Panettiere (“Heroes”) - a Tall Vanilla Chai Tea Latte lover, Elijah Wood (“Bobby”) - an Iced Venti no-water Americano aficionado and Bob Harper (“The Biggest Loser”) - a Double Tall nonfat extra hot Cappuccino enthusiast.
Starbucks donated T-shirts to the Clothes Off Our Back® Foundation, which will auction T-shirts autographed by Mychael Knight and other celebrities such as Courtney Cox, David Arquette, John Stamos, Jenna Fischer, Kevin Dillon and Tina Fey. The Clothes Off Our Back Foundation hosts charity auctions showcasing today’s hottest celebrity attire, with proceeds going to benefit various children’s charities. The T-shirts are available for auction until Thursday, March 15 on www.ClothesOffOurBack.org.
Starbucks is always looking for innovative ways to delight customers, many of whom are often surprised to find out about the number of beverage choices available to them. Express your favorite beverage choice on your own personalized, very limited-run “My Starbucks” T-shirt, available at no charge to the public from Feb. 15 through Feb. 28, beginning at 10 a.m. PST each day while quantities last.
