Unify Completes Successful Composer Migration Pilot for Federal Government Agency
Agency Selects Unify’s
Composer Services Offering to Migrate Lotus Notes Application to Microsoft
.NET
SACRAMENTO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Unify Corp. (OTCBB:UFYC), a global
provider of application modernization software, today announced the completion
of a successful pilot project that migrated a complex, workflow-centric Lotus
Notes application to the Microsoft platform using the company’s Composer solution. The completion of the pilot project
validates Composer’s ability to transform Lotus Notes
applications with like-for-like features that included the user interface,
business logic, workflow and security, to a standards-based platform.
“We are pleased to count a large federal agency among
our growing list of successful pilot and proof-of-concept migrations for
Composer for Lotus Notes,” said Todd Wille, CEO of
Unify. “Composer’s ability to
transform the complex Notes application into C# with exposed Web services
enables customers to migrate legacy Notes applications to better serve their
organizations. With the successful completion of this pilot, the agency intends
to issue a request for proposal (RFP) to migrate hundreds of Notes applications
to the Microsoft platform. We look forward to actively engaging in this
process.”
As a result of the successful migration pilot, the Federal Agency is moving
forward with a complete assessment of its Lotus Notes environment, the next step
of their transition strategy off the Lotus Notes platform. By transitioning
applications off of Lotus Notes, the agency intends to capitalize on the
benefits associated with the Microsoft platform including scalability,
interoperability and standardization.
