VTSS News Vitesse SAS Shipments Exceed 250,000 Ports Per Week
CAMARILLO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Vitesse Semiconductor Corporation (Pink Sheets:VTSS), a leader in Serial
Attached SCSI technology, today announced a milestone in the deployment
of its NexSAS™ portfolio of SAS products –
shipping over 250,000 ports per week. Vitesse’s
end-to-end SAS solution is now poised to begin its ramp into the small
and medium business and enterprise storage markets.
“Over the last three years, Vitesse has
invested heavily in SAS technology,” said Tim
Hornback, vice president and general manager, Storage Products Division,
Vitesse. “Both our commitment to SAS as a
storage technology and our innovative, feature/performance approach to
products have positioned us as a vendor of choice at nine of the top 10
enterprise server and storage enclosure OEMs.”
Vitesse’s NexSAS family of end-to-end SAS
solutions is based on a common software and hardware architecture,
allowing OEMs to easily scale designs across port densities, functional
requirements, and applications while leveraging existing software and
firmware. This architectural flexibility provides OEMs with accelerated time-to-market
and maximized time-in-market through reuse of designs and
firmware/software. Targeted at both enterprise server and storage
enclosure applications, Vitesse delivers all of the features needed to
build enterprise storage solutions that leverage both SAS and Serial ATA
(SATA) technology today.
The NexSAS family includes the industry’s
most diverse offering of high- and low-port count expanders, high
performance RAID-on-Chip (ROC) controllers, active-active and
active-passive mux devices, discrete enclosure management controllers,
and advanced signal integrity solutions.
