AXL News Austin Technology Provider is Integral Part of Security for World Conference on Information Technology 2006
AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 19, 2005--Austin-based Axalto, Inc. (EURONEXT:AXL) (EURONEXT:NL0000400653) will play a leading role in the security for the World Congress on Information Technology (WCIT 2006) in Austin, Texas next May 1 - 5. Axalto smart cards and related systems will be used to control access to the event and related activities by high-ranking government officials and business leaders.
Axalto's smart cards will be encoded with security information that will display a picture and information about the delegate to verify their identity when scanned. The delegates can also use their cards at the onsite kiosks to access their personal congress schedule and email.
WCIT 2006 draws approximately 2,000 global thought leaders and decision makers from 80 countries, including Fortune 100 CEO's, NGO presidents, foreign ministers, Nobel laureates, university chancellors and leading R&D scientists. Speakers this year include Michael Dell, chairmen of the board, Dell, Inc; Paul Otellini, CEO, Intel; Steve Ballmer, CEO, Microsoft, and John Gage, chief researcher and vice president of the science office, Sun Microsystems.
