EMR News Emerson Introduces Next-Generation Power Platform for Telecommunications Customers Worldwide

ST. LOUIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Emerson Network Power, a business of Emerson (NYSE: EMR) and the global leader in enabling Business Critical Continuity, today announced the roll-out of NetSure™, a global technology platform designed to offer telecom providers worldwide the ease and flexibility of implementing reliable power products under one global standard.

NetSure combines multiple DC power resources into a family of standardized, best-in-class technologies that can be used by companies around the world. Wireless carriers, for example, can access a universal DC power supply from Emerson that accommodates a range of voltage needs for different networks, like GSM and the newer 3G data infrastructure. Through NetSure, Emerson Network Power leverages its global telecom expertise to offer customers reliable, cost-competitive DC Power systems from a single provider.

“The telecom industry is moving fast as a result of a variety of issues ranging from industry growth to new technologies and environmental disasters,” said Ed Feeney, senior vice president, Emerson. “The flexibility of NetSure allows us to help customers navigate and adapt with change, no matter what the future brings. It allows businesses to stay ahead of the curve and achieve true network continuity.”

Based on a recent survey conducted by Emerson, forty-five percent of large businesses spend less than $200,000 annually to provide backup power to protect against costly downtime. However, the survey also found that some companies could lose as much as $2 million per day as a result of network outages.

The new power platform is the latest in a series of technology innovations from Emerson Network Power designed to provide customer-driven solutions to protect business-critical networks from costly failures. Emerson Network Power’s ability to localize products and deliver regional expertise provides the foundation for integrated DC Power systems that can be configured to meet specific customer needs and prepare companies for network failures.

The legacy DC Power systems in all regions will continue to carry legacy brands: Actura, Candeo, Lorain and PS. Over the next 12 months, customers will begin see NetSure as the next generation of products in DC Power technology.
