Is the toxic asset purchase plan a bailout? The Stock Research Portal notes that “It seems obvious that if the ‘toxic assets’ are not purchased at current ‘depressed’ market prices, those participating in their purchase will be ‘behind on their investment’ before they start.” So why would they invest?
