RICHMOND, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Roy M. Terry, a champion of road safety for more than half-a-century,
first with the Virginia State Police and later with Overnite
Transportation Company, died early this morning. He was 83.
A decorated law enforcement and safety official, Terry spent 35 years
with the Virginia State Police. He retired with the rank of Captain,
having reached the department’s mandatory

drivers not only knew the rules of the road but practiced them every

professional,” said UPS Freight Safety Vice
