AANI News Amedia Joins Its All-in-One Residential Gateway and Media Portal with Amino IPTV Platform to Form Foundation for New Broadband Entertainment Center Demo at CES
EATONTOWN, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Amedia Networks, Inc. (OTC BB: AANI) (FRANKFURT: TEJ.F), a provider of
next generation media gateways to distribute and manage ultra-broadband
triple-play services in the home, today announced that it will feature
Amino’s flexible AmiNET130 HD/SD MPEG-2/4
IPTV device in Amedia’s demonstration of its
Broadband Entertainment Center –- an
all-in-one gateway, home networking appliance, and media portal -- at
the 2007 International CES (Consumer Electronics Show) in Booth
#26731 in South Hall 2, running Jan. 8-11 in Las Vegas, NV.
In addition to combining the collective functionality of a modem,
router, wireless access point, VoIP adapter, and more within a single
device, Amedia also provides an easy-to-use Media Library –-
allowing users to store, organize, search, and select their movies, home
videos, music, and other downloaded or streaming multi-media content
through a customizable interface.
The Amedia gateway essentially replaces the computer as the central “media
hub” within the networked home. Working in
conjunction with Amino’s compact AmiNET
series, the Amedia gateway empowers residential users with the ability
to surf the web at ultra-broadband speeds directly on their TV screens –
from the comfort of their couches. Supporting HDTV displays at 720p and
1080i resolution, the AmiNET130 enables service providers to deliver
cost effective on-demand video and multi-room IPTV services. The elegant
AmiNET130 supports H.264 (MPEG4/AVC) video streams and is modeled on the
same award-winning design as the AmiNET100 series allowing viewers to
experience superior video quality of movies stored on their gateway –
with the full capability to access, search, select, and play multimedia
from their personalized media libraries right from their TVs.
“By consolidating various home networking
gear into a single device and offering a new pathway to enjoy
multi-media content throughout the home, the Amedia gateway offers all
the best in comfort and quality for the home entertainment experience,”
said Frank Galuppo, President, CEO, and Director of Amedia Networks. “While
these capabilities have clear and tangible benefits for the home user,
the Broadband Entertainment Center ultimately provides
telecommunications carriers with a platform to better manage residential
triple-play services and expand revenue opportunities at the same time.”
“In-home media distribution is rapidly
evolving, evident by Amedia’s most recent
breakthroughs with its Broadband Entertainment Center platform –
which presents a new and exciting paradigm in home entertainment
centered around the television and family room, rather than the PC and
home office,” said Roy Kirsopp, VP and
General Manager at Amino. “As consumers
continue to drive demand for more enhanced home media, such as HDTV and
IPTV, Amino is committed to delivering powerful and flexible solutions
to support new challenges faced by carriers.”
