ABTG News Ambient Files Third Quarter 10-QSB

BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Ambient Corporation (OTCBB: ABTG), a leader in Broadband over Power Lines (BPL) solutions, today announced the financial results for its third quarter ending September 30, 2006.

The company achieved two major milestones during the third quarter of this year. First, the Company received a grant of BPL Equipment Authorization from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) for its second-generation communication node, allowing Ambient to market, sell and install its newest generation of nodes for commercial deployment. Ambient’s node was the first high-speed BPL access product to receive certification.

Second, Ambient announced in September an expansion of the deployment begun earlier in the year with Duke Energy. The initial commercial build-out over the utility’s electric distribution grid will encompass approximately 6,000 homes on two circuits and is part of an ongoing BPL deployment program. In connection with the deployment, the Company has received a purchase order for BPL equipment in the aggregate amount of approximately $3.5 million. Ambient intends to fulfill the purchase order through the first quarter of 2007.

The Company also extended its agreement with San Diego Gas and Electric (SDG&E). SDG&E will be deploying Ambient’s BPL access nodes and the latest version of Ambient’s Network Management System.

In August, the FCC issued their Memorandum Opinion and Order (MO&O), which is significant for Ambient and the BPL industry. The FCC’s MO&O affirmed the FCC’s technical rules set forth in 2004 for BPL systems and also found that the rules adequately protect authorized radio services, including Amateur Radio, from harmful interference. The MO&O establishes rules that promote broadband access and competition, and electric service efficiency and reliability.

Ambient obtained a global supply-chain partner, CTS Corporation, for its BPL Access Node. The agreement with CTS allows Ambient to ensure volume production capability, which can scale to meet marketplace demands. The Company also expanded their patent portfolio to eleven patents on power line technology and its application.

Through three quarters in 2006, Ambient has recorded $903,000 in revenue. With the $3.5 million purchase order, the Company anticipates significant revenue growth over the remainder of the year. However, no assurance can be given that this will be the case due to standard cancellation and other terms detailed in the Company’s SEC filings.

A more detailed description of Ambient’s business, its results of operations and financial statements are contained in the Quarterly Report on the 10-QSB filed on November 14, 2006, with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
