ARIS News Janome America, Inc. Selects ARI's EMPARTweb(TM)
MILWAUKEE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ARI (OTCBB:ARIS), a leading provider of technology-enabled business solutions that help equipment dealers, distributors and manufacturers build sales and profits, today announced that Janome America, Inc. of Mahwah, New Jersey, has licensed EMPARTweb™, ARI’s proven web-based electronic parts catalog, for use by its 680 dealers throughout the U.S. Janome America, Inc. is the largest subsidiary of Janome Sewing Machine Co., Ltd. of Japan, which produces nearly two million sewing machines annually as well as a line of related sewing products and embroidery software.
Under the exclusive, three-year agreement, ARI will host EMPARTweb to allow Janome’s dealers to have on-demand access to Janome’s parts and accessories catalogs. In addition, Janome dealers will be able to look up parts using EMPARTweb and create a pick list that will then be transferred directly to Janome’s in-house distribution software package, APPRISE. ARI and Janome are currently working together to convert Janome’s current parts information and inventory into a state-of-the-art electronic catalog. EMPARTweb and the interface to APPRISE are expected to be available by spring, 2007.
“With our current catalog, dealers were having difficulty identifying the part or accessory they needed and then translating that into the correct part number. For Janome and its dealers to be successful, we realized we needed to make the parts look-up process more efficient and user friendly. So, we looked at all options in the market, and concluded that ARI offered the most reliable, best-of-breed e-catalog software and support in the industry today,” said Michael McDonagh, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Janome America, Inc.
“We also chose ARI because we believe its complete suite of e-catalog products and services will provide the infrastructure we need to support our future growth. With ARI’s proven track record, we’re confident that ARI has the ability to successfully deploy additional catalogs and services and grow with our business,” added McDonagh.
“We welcome the opportunity to work with Janome America, Inc. and its dealers throughout the U.S.,” said Brian E. Dearing, chairman and chief executive officer of ARI. “We are committed to making the parts look-up process easier and less time consuming for Janome’s dealers. EMPARTweb is a high-quality product that will allow dealers to accurately and efficiently access the parts catalog information they need to better serve their customers. The Janome contract expands our business into a new market, illustrating the applicability of our solutions to many types of businesses that involve the sale and service of machinery through dealers. We look forward to growing with Janome.”
