CHCR Stock News : CompCare Partners with Bowie State University

Comprehensive Care Corporation (CompCare) (OTCBB:CHCR) a national leader in providing behavioral health, substance abuse, direct-to-consumer marketing of healthcare products, and employee assistance programs for governmental agencies, managed care companies and employer groups, today announced that it is partnering with Bowie State University (BSU) to develop a clinical and corporate summer internship program for students majoring in behavioral sciences and human services; nursing, child and adolescent studies; criminal justice; pedology; psychology and social work. CompCare has provided eight internships for BSU students.

Over the coming months, CompCare and BSU will jointly develop a behavioral healthcare program specifically designed to meet the needs of our veterans. This program will be initially conducted as a pilot, before being expanded and implemented nationwide in order to cover a wider segment of our national community. It is anticipated that this program will generate a strong coordination among local, State and federal agencies, in addressing the needs of our underserved population.

John Hill, Co-CEO of CompCare, and Dr. Antoinette Coleman, Dean for the College of Professional Studies at BSU, will both be guests on Biz Talk With Josh, a national radio program hosted by Joshua Smith on WOL 1450AM on Friday May 29, 2009, from 10:30am to 11:30am EDT. They will speak not only on the difficulties facing our returning soldiers but also the serious failure of our healthcare system to address and meet the healthcare needs of our military and citizenry. For details on how to listen to the program, please visit www.biztalkwithjosh.com.

John Hill, Co-CEO of CompCare, said, “We are proud to partner with BSU on this very strategic endeavor to assist our returning young men and women and providing them the emotional and behavioral support they need. BSU is the oldest Historically Black College/University in Maryland and one of the ten oldest in the country. Working with the University and its students is key to the development and monitoring of this program.”

Dr. Antoinette Coleman, Dean for the College of Professional Studies at BSU said, “We are excited about Bowie State joining with CompCare in a public/private partnership which takes students out of the classroom and involves them in real-world solutions to healthcare. In CompCare, we have found a unique partner that shares our commitment to supporting our veterans and, in general, our vision for community-based behavioral healthcare programs.”
