CLXN News CLX Investment Company Announces Shipments of Infectious Disease Tests to European Markets
TEMECULA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 14, 2005--CLX Investment Company, Inc. (OTCBB:CLXN) today announced that portfolio investment Zonda, Inc. is continuing shipments of its HandiLab-C test for Chlamydia to European markets.
A shipment of the personal use (over-the-counter) Chlamydia-C test was sent to the company's distributor for Scandinavia in late November for delivery to pharmacies across Norway. Another shipment is expected to be sent later this month. Beginning on February 01, 2006, this distributor will also begin selling to all pharmacies in Sweden. Several shipments of the Chlamydia-C tests have also been made recently to a distributor in Austria.
"The shipments of Zonda's infectious disease diagnostic testing product for Chlamydia are expected to multiply as this and other Zonda products gain a higher profile in the medical community," said Tammy D. Dunn, chief executive officer of CLX Investment Company. "The MEDICA conference was wildly successful and continues to result in inquiries and requests for contracts from distributors in markets around the world. Zonda continues to fulfill these requests and is negotiating agreements that are the most advantageous for the company with minimum purchase levels that will ensure a healthy baseline of ongoing revenues."
Zonda Inc., a privately held company that specializes in test products that serve the medical diagnostic (IVD), food safety, and sanitation testing markets, is expanding the distribution of its product lines into broader markets around the world, beginning with a focus in Europe. The first product targeted for accelerated marketing and distribution efforts is an innovative, rapid, self-contained diagnostic device for the detection of Chlamydia, which carries a CE mark for professional and over-the-counter use. The device, which is marketed under the HandiLab-C name, is superior to its competition due to its comparable accuracy (compared directly to PCR testing), ease of use, compact design, long shelf life, rapid results, and cost effectiveness.
Zonda's product line also includes diagnostic testing products for the detection of gonorrhea, yeast and Strep A, which all carry CE marks for professional point-of-care use.
"Increased product sales is rightfully an important cornerstone of Zonda's expansion initiative. The resulting increase in revenues is expected to provide greater return for CLX shareholders, which is a central focus of our investment strategy," added Ms. Dunn.
