CLXN News CLX Investment Company CEO Discusses Infectious Disease Testing Market for Zonda Portfolio Investment

TEMECULA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 7, 2005--CLX Investment Company, Inc. (OTCBB:CLXN) chief executive officer Tammy D. Dunn today issued information regarding the potential of portfolio investment Zonda, Inc. in the infectious diseases market.

"Following the success of the MEDICA trade event in Germany, where portfolio investment Zonda, Inc. received a great deal of attention from distributors in countries around the world, we wanted to take the opportunity to briefly discuss the size of the market that Zonda's products serve," commented Ms. Dunn. "Zonda management has reported that in reviewing the various competing technology tests at MEDICA, the competing products are only getting more complex, not simpler."

Zonda Inc., a privately held company that specializes in test products that serve the medical diagnostic (IVD), food safety, and sanitation testing markets, is expanding the distribution of its product lines into broader markets around the world. The first product targeted for accelerated marketing and distribution efforts is an innovative, rapid, self-contained diagnostic device for the detection of Chlamydia, which carries a CE mark for both professional point-of-care and over-the-counter use. The device, which is marketed under the HandiLab-C name, is superior to its competition due to its comparable accuracy (compared directly to PCR testing), ease of use, compact design, long shelf life, rapid results, and cost effectiveness. Other similar products for the detection of gonorrhea, yeast and Strep A carry CE marks for professional point-of-care use.

"The market for Zonda's testing products can be divided into two major segments, the professional point-of-care market, which would include use in doctors' offices, clinics and hospitals, and over-the-counter market, which would be sales to individuals in pharmacies and other locations," said Ms. Dunn.

"According to numbers supplied by Zonda, there were a total of approximately 134 million point-of-care cases of Chlamydia trachomatis worldwide in 2004. Of these estimated cases, about 20 million were actually tested with one of the various tests on the market, the majority being PCR (polymerase-chain-reaction test to detect DNA) performed in a laboratory. Obviously, PCR tests are highly accurate, but the cost and time spend using this method, makes Zonda's HandiLab product much more attractive both to health care professionals and the over-the-counter health care market," stated Ms. Dunn.

"Zonda also reports over 500 million cases of Chlamydia of the eye worldwide, mostly in under-developed countries, and the HandiLab-C test is the only approved over-the-counter Chlamydia test available. We look forward to issuing some revenue projections for Zonda in the very near future, and the projections will include sales into this large worldwide market," added Ms. Dunn.

"These numbers graphically demonstrate that there is tremendous potential for Zonda's products in both major segments of the infectious disease detection market. With CLX's support, we expect to see HandiLab products gaining significant traction worldwide in the coming quarters. We will also be updating shareholders on progress with the F.D.A. approval process in the United States and S.F.D.A. approval in China," said Ms. Dunn.
