Scientific Advisory Board. Dr. Lu, who is a Professor of Medicine at the
University of Massachusetts Medical School (UMMS) in Worcester,
Massachusetts, is the lead inventor of the DNA-based pre-flu vaccine
being developed by Advanced Influenza Technologies, Inc., a wholly owned
subsidiary of CytoDyn, Inc. The pre-flu vaccine is designed to provide
protection against multiple strains of the flu virus, including the
seasonal flu and the bird flu, all in one shot that can be given at any
time of the year.
Dr. Lu is an expert on novel vaccine development and is one of the early
pioneers in the development of DNA-based vaccine technology. He has
published extensively on vaccines targeting many of the major pathogens
