CYRO News Chyron's Graphics Technology for Mobile Platforms Gains Momentum
AMSTERDAM--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 8, 2006--Stand 3.341, IBC: Following the successful patent announcement at NAB for technology that enables the integration of live television graphics data on mobile platforms, Chyron Corporation (OTC BB: CYRO) is proud to announce their participation in the FLO Forum (an organization of more than 60 industry leaders that works to promote the global open standardization of FLO technology to support the development of products and services based on FLO technology, and that enables the delivery of advanced multimedia services to wireless consumers).
The patent provides technology to enable on-air electronic graphics systems to embed graphics metadata into the video signal, either in addition to, or instead of, its normal function of overlaying graphics into the traditional television picture. This metadata then stays with the video signal as it is distributed or archived throughout the video production chain. The metadata contains information that describes the style, format and content of the graphics, enabling the video content to be re-branded and re-used in a variety of ways.
