DMSP News World of Outlaws and SPEED Teaming Up For 2007
CONCORD, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--DIRT MotorSports, Inc., (OTCBB: DMSP) announces another significant step
in expanding its broadcast reach by moving 12 World of Outlaws Sprint
Series broadcasts to SPEED in 2007.
“SPEED has been home to the Knoxville
Nationals since 2003 with a solid fan following,”
said Hunter Nickell, SPEED Executive Vice President and General Manager. “When
we learned World of Outlaws broadcasts would be available, it was
something we immediately had an interest in. Building on the Knoxville
Nationals and carrying through the World of Outlaws championship run on
SPEED is something we know sprint car racing fans will embrace.”
“The World of Outlaws new broadcast agreement
with SPEED is another major move forward for our sport,”
said DIRT MotorSports CEO and President Tom Deery. “It
has been a top priority to expand our TV reach. Combine this new SPEED
relationship with the previously announced ‘Summer
of Money’ on ESPN2, and the foundation is
much better to grow the fan base while allowing our teams, track
operators and series to capitalize on sponsorship opportunities.”
In addition to adding 12 World of Outlaws Sprint Series events, there
also will be six World of Outlaws Late Model Series events in 2007 on
SPEED. The 12 World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series and six World of
Outlaws Late Model series events to be broadcast on SPEED in 2007 will
be announced later in the year when SPEED reveals its full 2007 schedule.
SPEED, celebrating its 10th Anniversary in 2006, is the nation's first
and foremost cable network dedicated to motor sports and the passion for
