Flexpoint Sensor Systems, Inc. (OTCBB:FLXT) today announced the company has received notification that a European Tier One Parts Supplier has recently filed to protect an automotive seat application utilizing Flexpoint’s Bend Sensor® Technology.
This automotive application features the Bend Sensor® as a switch for a vehicle’s motorized seat adjustments. The sensor technology allows the occupant to adjust the seat at variable speeds and increments, and to quickly and precisely set the optimal comfort position. The sensor is formed in the shape of a seat, which makes it very intuitive and easy to use for the operator. The seat shaped sensor will adjust the seat cushion and backrest in all directions at operator controlled speeds, and will accomplish this with a single, rather than multiple, switch. This system provides for a more innovative, feature enhanced, switch that will also be more lightweight and cost effective.
The Tier One has completed testing of the second generation prototype in an actual seat mock-up and is in the early stages of negotiating an agreement with Flexpoint.
