Flexpoint Sensor Systems, Inc. (OTCBB: FLXT) today announced the company has filed for a provisional patent on a variable speed switch which utilizes the Bend Sensor® technology to control an electrical motor in the seat.
Seat control devices currently on the market typically are complicated assemblies with numerous moving parts controlled either by a joystick type device or multiple switches to regulate the movement. These units tend to feature multiple sensors making them complicated, heavy and bulky in a time where space and gas efficient vehicles are at a premium.
Additionally, current assemblies are limited in their functionality often having just two states on or off; when the motor is on, it runs at a constant speed without offering the ability to precisely dial in the ideal seat position.
