FLXT News Flexpoint Bringing Flow Sensors to Market
DRAPER, Utah--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Flexpoint Sensor Systems, Inc. (OTCBB:FLXT) today announced the company
has been working closely with a pumping systems company and is in the
final stages of developing a Flow Meter that incorporates the Bend Sensor®
technology. Flexpoint is nearing completion of a final product and
anticipates announcing an agreement soon.
The liquid flow sensor measures the presence or amount of liquid flow in
a pipe. The direction and/or amount of liquid flow can be determined,
monitored and recorded at all times. Flexpoint is developing this system
in conjunction with a company in Washington State. The system has
already undergone internal and field testing with results that met or
exceeded expectations.
Due to the robust nature of the Bend Sensor®,
the flow type can range from water to harsh liquids such as gas and oil.
The single layer construction of the Bend Sensor®allows it to operate without any problems in environments that can
include dirt, dust, high and low temperatures, air pressure changes, and
a wide variety of harsh liquids.
A similar device, the air flow sensor, was awarded the 2006 Frost &
Sullivan Technology Innovation Award at a recently announced
presentation. This sensor measures air flow most typically in
traditional HVAC applications, including the direction of the air flow,
the amount of flow, or simply notify the system if there is any air flow
at all. The nature of the Bend Sensor®
allows the measuring system to function regardless of any dirt or
contaminants in the air flow stream.
