HERNDON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Guardian Technologies International, Inc. (OTCBB:GDTI), a leading provider of high-performance security and healthcare solutions based on "Intelligent Imaging Informatics" (3i™), today announced that it has signed a contract with Logos Imaging LLC (www.logosimaging.com) for ten licenses of Guardian’s threat assessment software technology for portable bomb detection scanners, PinPoint nSight™.
Logos Imaging is a worldwide distributor of portable X-ray scanner equipment used for Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD) and Improvised Explosive Device Disposal (IEDD). Logos Imaging has an installed base of hundreds of scanners serving state, local, and military bomb squads. The PinPoint nSight™ licenses present Logos with an innovative imaging-analysis technology that advances the existing capabilities of Logos’ portable digital imaging scanners. The purchased licenses are targeted for multiple Logos’ customers in the EOD/IEDD field. This domain has an embedded global base of over 15,000 portable X-ray systems and includes civil and military customers both in the U.S. and internationally.
Shawn Munn, President of Logos Imaging, said: “The PinPoint nSight™ image analysis software and the Logos Imaging System have the advantage of being fully compatible with the x-ray machines used by a vast majority of EOD/IEDD customers world-wide. This purchase will allow Logos to begin upgrading this extensive customer base to the next-generation of security radiography."
Guardian and Logos first introduced the PinPoint nSight™ technology in the autumn of 2006 through hands-on demonstrations at customer sites and technical presentations at tradeshows. In addition, Guardian acquired hundreds of radiographic images of explosive materials while visiting local and state bomb squads in the U.S. These images have been used to advance the PinPoint nSight™ technology and validate its performance in EOD and IEDD missions.
“The majority of the installed base of EOD/IEDD imaging systems is based on a film imaging medium that is reaching its end-of-life cycle,” said John McDaid, Guardian’s Director of Business Development. “The Logos Imaging System and PinPoint nSight™ imaging-analysis tool are well positioned to provide bomb squads and military EOD teams a superior next-generation solution.”
