GLIF News Grant Life Sciences Signs MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) with Taiwan's Leading Clinical Reference Laboratory
LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Grant Life Sciences (‘Grant’)
Inc. (OTC BB: GLIF) announced today that it has signed an MOU
(Memorandum of Understanding) with Union Clinical Laboratory (UCL) of
Taiwan, the leading laboratory serving the clinical diagnostics market
in Taiwan—which represents a major milestone
for progressing the Company’s strategic plan
to build a strong presence in global markets.
“We are very pleased to collaborate with UCL—the
largest clinical reference laboratory that provides more than 30 percent
of referral laboratory services in Taiwan—to
validate our technologies. Grant has been focusing on the development of
HPV (Human Papillomavirus) diagnostics, and we expect that UCL will play
a critical role in validating our assays in collaboration with
UCL-affiliated medical institutes that are designing and managing
clinical trials with our products,” said
Hun-Chi Lin, Ph.D., Grant’s President and
Chief Scientist.
“In addition, our diagnostics products will
be manufactured in Taiwan, which offers lower cost and high quality for
making them available and affordable to the global medical specialists
dealing with cervical cancers closely associated with HPV,”
added Dr. Lin. “There are over 300,000 women
who die from cervical cancer each year worldwide, and 90,000 in the
Greater China area. Our recently appointed Greater China Regional
Director, Mr. Kim Liao, will now be able to oversee this product
development process with support from the highest-quality partners in
this important market.”
(“Greater China”
refers collectively to both the territories administered by the People’s
Republic of China—mainland China, Hong Kong
and Macau—as well as territories administered
by the Republic of China—Taiwan, and some
neighboring islands.)
