GTHA News GeneThera Announces Preliminary Agreement with Mexican University for Collaborative Work on Johne's Disease and Vaccination
WHEAT RIDGE, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--GeneThera (OTCBB:GTHA) announces that it has progressed with
negotiations with a leading Mexican University to develop a test and
vaccine for Johne’s Disease.
Commenting on the talks between the parties, Dr. Tony Milici, CEO of
GeneThera said, “Our relationship going
forward with the Universidad National Autonoma de Mexico (National
Autonomous University of Mexico) is very exciting. This is the largest
University in Mexico with a very modern research facility. We are
entering into an agreement to develop a Johne’s
test and vaccine working at their facility. Johne’s
is a huge problem in Mexico and the resultant loss in cattle production
hurts the Mexican economy to a large degree. Our goal is to work with
UNAM and their research scientists to come up with a nationwide testing
and vaccination program that will eventually eradicate Johne’s
Disease in Mexico.”
Dr. Chaves Gris, Director of the Department of Animal Pathology at UNAM
and head of the Johne’s program in Mexico
said, “We are very happy that GeneThera was
introduced to us and are optimistic that they and our people can come up
with a fast and accurate test for Johne’s
Disease and an eventual vaccine for this big problem.”
The parties are finalizing the details of the Agreement and will put out
a subsequent release when executed.
