HyperFeed Launches HTRS and ActiveH; HyperFeed Announces the Global Launch of HyperFeed Trading Room Systems (HTRS) and ActiveH Financial Desktop
As the result of the acquisition of Telerate by Reuters, the U.S. Department of Justice and European Union mandated Telerate/Reuters to divest itself of their TRS and Active8 software in order to satisfy anti-monopoly requirements. Following a rigorous selection process, HyperFeed Technologies Inc. (OTCBB:HYPR) was selected as the provider best positioned to receive source code for this software. Under the terms of the license, HyperFeed is entitled to use and further develop the TRS technology to offer its own market data system (HTRS) worldwide. In addition, exercising its rights to use and develop upon Telerate's Active8 technology, HyperFeed has launched ActiveH, an industry-leading, open-systems market data display workstation that connects to HTRS.
"Our goal is to create a global agnostic market data platform and financial desktop using a proven global platform that currently supports more than 25,000 users," said Paul Pluschkell, HyperFeed's President and CEO. "As a neutral provider of software and services, HyperFeed will offer our HTRS Market Data Platform and ActiveH Application on equal terms to all content publishers, application providers and end users. Our goal is to create the industry's first collaborative open and agnostic global platform for data, transactions and platform integration through a soon to be announced series of global partnerships."
HTRS technology is widely considered the most architecturally open platform available. As a proven market data distribution platform that interfaces many different data feeds, HTRS makes it easy to integrate market data from any source into any type of display or application software - transactional, web distribution, risk management, or other mid and back-office system. At its core is a high performance messaging system, generating extremely high levels of efficiency and reliability. Its producer/consumer model keeps the sources and the client applications independent, and its distributed and location independent architecture avoids single points of failure. The system also offers sophisticated permission and data management functions including HyperFeed's HTRS API, which allows for distribution of market data and other services to users outside of the trading room.
ActiveH is the premier display container connecting to HyperFeed's HTRS market data system. The platform provides a professional financial desktop that is fully customizable for various classes of end users. ActiveH seamlessly integrates multiple data sources including real-time data, news, chains, charts, analysis, and other published data. It supports various operating systems and displays all the data available on HTRS. ActiveH is an ActiveX container developed specifically for the financial industry.
HTRS and ActiveH products provide a powerful open systems environment offering the financial industry an independent alternative market data distribution, management and display solution, said Pluschkell. "The launch of these products further solidifies HyperFeed's position in the marketplace and provides significant validation to the strength of our business model."
HTRS and ActiveH are not Reuters products and are not supported by Reuters.
TRS, Active8 and Telerate are registered trademarks of Reuters.
