IFMX News SUNRx to Market and Sell InforMedix's Med-eMonitor System; ''Smart Pillbox'' to Be Offered to Labor Unions and Self-Insured Employers
ROCKVILLE, Md.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 10, 2006--InforMedix Holdings, Inc. (OTCBB:IFMX), creating a new technology platform that improves medication adherence and enables patients to manage chronic illnesses at home, today announced its Med-eMonitor System (TM) will be marketed and sold by SUNRx.
Based in Cherry Hill, NJ, privately held SUNRx is a rapidly-growing pharmacy benefits administration company ranked #1 in the Philadelphia area's 100 fastest growing companies by the Wharton School, and ranked 19th fastest growing company in the United States by Entrepreneur Magazine. SUNRx has experienced growth exceeding 2000% per year since its founding in 2002.
Through use of its proprietary software, national retail pharmacy network of over 60,000 pharmacies, its strategic mail order pharmacy distribution, and specialty pharmacy partnerships, SUNRx provides prescription benefit administrative services to maximize the safe and efficient administration of medications while reducing prescription drug costs for clients that include individuals, Managed Care Organizations, self-insured employers, insurance companies, unions, Medicaid and Medicare managed care plans, Federal Employees Health Benefit Programs and other Federal, state and local governmental entities.
According to SUNRx's CEO, Gerard Ferro, "We are proud to make InforMedix's breakthrough medication and care plan adherence system available to our clients, and through them to patients with chronic illnesses they are managing at home. SUNRx is very selective in its partnering relationships, and after spending more than a year getting to know InforMedix and the Med-eMonitor System we think there are substantial benefits to our customers both in terms of improved patient outcomes and lower costs."
The Med-eMonitor(TM) System includes a device that goes home with the patient. The device alerts the patient when it is time to take their medications. It reminds them how to properly take their medications. It also provides important educational information about their medications, disease state and overall plan of care. The data from the device is transmitted daily to a secure Internet site. This allows the care givers (Physicians, Pharmacists, Nurses and family members) to monitor medication and care plan adherence every day. The system will also alert the care giver, through an e-mail, text message, fax, or page if the data on the patient indicates poor adherence or declining health.
According to Bruce A. Kehr, M.D., chairman and Chief Executive Officer of InforMedix, "We are very proud SUNRx selected InforMedix as its medication adherence partner. SUNRx has a blistering growth rate as evidenced by the awards that they have won from Entrepreneur Magazine, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, the Wharton School, the Philadelphia Business Journal, and the Entrepreneurs Forum of Greater Philadelphia. They also have a superb reputation in the field for trust and integrity. We believe they will be a superb channel partner and that the relationship will result in meaningful sales over the next six to twelve months."
