IFMX News InforMedix's Medication Adherence Solution to be Marketed and Distributed by Strategic Value Analysis Healthcare
ROCKVILLE, Md.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 31, 2006--InforMedix Holdings, Inc. (OTCBB:IFMX), creating a new technology platform which improves medication adherence and enables patients to manage chronic illnesses at home, today announced its Med-eMonitor System(TM) will be marketed and distributed by Strategic Value Analysis Healthcare, a leading provider of cost containment services to psychiatric service providers, medical centers, and regional health care delivery systems.
Founded in 1987 and continuously based in Skippack, Pennsylvania, privately-held Strategic Value Analysis Healthcare (www.strategicvalueanalysis.com) has gained wide recognition in the health care industry as "The Knowledge Experts" -- providing healthcare organizations with strategies, tactics, tools and techniques to successfully manage supply chain costs and more effectively control non-salary expenses. The company has served hundreds of healthcare institutions that have collectively saved more than $300 million in unneeded costs utilizing their tools and methods.
According to Bob Yokl, who is President of Strategic Value Analysis Healthcare, "Our strategic alliance with InforMedix provides a natural extension to our current service offerings and fits right in with our mission of helping clients save money while they increase the quality of healthcare."
"In many cases," Mr. Yokl said, "we have found that clients simply do not know about the Med-eMonitor System. They do not know there is a proven system ready to go that can help them save big dollars while improving health care outcomes for patients with chronic illnesses. And our clients include major university health centers, regional health care deliverers and as well as large and prestigious hospitals."
As but one example, Mr. Yokl cited the case of a leading provider of psychiatric services in the Midwest. He said, "This client, that serves approximately 50,000 patients, is facing very difficult cuts in Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement. When he heard about the Medication Adherence Solution I think we both realized right away that it could have a major impact with patients suffering from Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder, and other illnesses. We think we will find a number of situations like this and we hope to bring several on stream over the coming months."
The Med-eMonitor(TM) System includes a device that goes home with the patient. The device alerts the patient when it is time to take their medications. It also reminds them how to properly take their medications. Educational information about their medications, disease state and care plan are also delivered on the Med-eMonitor. The data from the device is transmitted daily to a secure Internet site. This allows the care givers (Physicians, Pharmacists, Nurses and family members) to monitor medication and care plan adherence every day. The system will also alert the care giver, through an e-mail, text message, fax, or page if the data on the patient indicates poor adherence or declining health.
According to Bruce A. Kehr, M.D, chairman and Chief Executive Officer of InforMedix, "We are proud to be associated with 'The Knowledge Experts.' Mr. Yokl and his team at Strategic Value Analysis Healthcare have tremendous credibility as well as great relationships with several clients that could be of real importance to InforMedix. There is an unusually clear alignment of goals and of capabilities that we think is going to produce terrific results for InforMedix and its shareholders."
