ISMN News IFSA Strongman's Athletes in Clean Sweep at Arnold Strongman Classic
LONDON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--IFSA Strongman (OTCBB:ISMN), the exclusive manager of most top strongman athletes, rights and events worldwide, announced today that its athletes took the whole podium at the Arnold Strongman Classic in Columbus, Ohio, this weekend.
Zydrunas Savickas of Lithuania won four disciplines over an international field to capture the 6th Annual Arnold Strongman Classic title, his 5th in a row. Behind him IFSA Strongman athletes captured 2nd (Vasyl Virastyuk, Ukraine), 3rd (Andrus Murumets, Estonia), and tied 5th (Oleksander Pekanov, Ukraine, and Mikhail Koklyaev, Russia) positions. The top three winners, all IFSA Strongman athletes, took home over USD$100,000 in cash and prizes.
The only non-IFSA Strongman athlete able to break into the top six was Phil Pfister in 4th position. Phil was an IFSA Strongman athlete until last year, when he realized that he is unlikely to ever make the podium in a top IFSA Strongman title event, and opted instead for the easier World’s Strongest Man show, which he then easily won.
"The Arnold Strongman Classic has become a showcase for the supremacy of IFSA Strongman athletes, vindicating our position as the world governing body of this sport,” stated Dr. Douglas Edmunds, Head of Athlete Management Division of IFSA Strongman. Mr. Christian Fennell, the President of IFSA Strongman, added: “I would like to congratulate our athletes for a good start of the season. We wish them strength now that the hard preparation for the season’s top events begins, culminating in Autumn’s IFSA Strongman World Championships.”
The Arnold Strongman Classic is one of numerous competitions in which Strongman athletes compete throughout the year. This prestigious Arnold event is supported by national sponsors including Gold’s Gym, GNC, MET-Rx, Twinlab, and the Vitamin Shoppe.
