ITPD News Intrepid Holdings Chairman and CEO Maurice Stone Joins Other Major Industry Executives as Founding Members of the Convenient Care Association
HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Responding to the major issues and concerns of accessible health care in
America, Intrepid Holdings Chairman and CEO Maurice Stone, along with
other prominent members of the Convenient Care industry, have taken an
important step by joining forces to create a new trade organization –The Convenient Care Association (CCA). Formed by retail clinic
owners, the Convenient Care Association will deliver guidance, develop
standards, and provide stronger representation for the industry and its
members.
The association currently represents 12 Convenient Care Clinic
organizations, including Intrepid Holdings subsidiary My Healthy Access,
which has opened clinics in Texas with plans to open more in urban areas
across the US. Primarily staffed by Nurse Practitioners and other
advanced practice nurses, clinics provide routine, non-emergency
services to walk-in patients at affordable prices seven days a week.
Some clinics are also staffed by Physician Assistants and Physicians.
“The Convenient Care industry has
revolutionized the way patients access health care today,”
says Tine Hansen-Turton, Executive Director, CCA. “That
kind of impact is energizing, and we look forward to expanding our
membership.”
The Convenient Care Association, supported by its members, is committed
to:
Ongoing development of uniform protocols which enhance and assist
clinics’ health care providers
Implementing medical record sharing procedures with physicians and
other health care providers
Offering recommendations, based on established best practices, for
patient follow-up care
“We are thrilled to participate in an industry
association which will pave the way for growth and success. Together, we
will share best practice, unify our voices, and partner with the
existing medical community to better serve our patients,”
says Maurice Stone, Intrepid Holdings CEO and a Founding Board Member of
the CCA.
Already, the CCA has secured an important endorsement for its approach
to health care delivery. The American College of Nurse Practitioners
(ACNP) recently adopted a resolution praising the Convenient Care
industry and its accessible, high quality healthcare delivery.
