SAN JOSE, Costa Rica--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 8, 2006--Medistem Laboratories, Inc. (OTCBB:MDSM)(FWB:S2U), committed to the ethical development of next-generation medical therapies from non-controversial adult stem cell sources, has announced that eminent research microbiologist Dr. Eduardo Glenn has been named Laboratory Director for the new research and treatment facility at its affiliate, the Institute for Cellular Medicine (ICM) in San Jose, Costa Rica.

Dr. Glenn is a specialist in Medical Bacteriology from the School of Microbiology and Chemistry Clinics in Costa Rica. His distinguished career includes the founding of the First Cord Blood Stem Cell Bank in Central America. Dr. Glenn also founded the Suplilab S.A. Laboratory for Food Control and Toxicology in Costa Rica.
