MLER News Moller International's 2-Passenger VTOL for Sale on Ebay
DAVIS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Moller International (OTCBB:MLER) announced today that its original
two-passenger M200X prototype saucer-shaped vertical take off and
landing aircraft, predecessor to its better known Skycar®
aircraft, is going to be offered for sale on Ebay. The auction is
anticipated to start at 08:00 AM PDT, Tuesday, 14 November, 2006.
On October 9, 2006 Moller International offered its M400X Skycar
prototype for sale, but bids tendered did not meet the Company’s
minimum reserve price. The Skycar is a revolutionary new type of vehicle
designed to vertically take off and land, seat four persons and travel
700 miles at a top speed of 350 mph. An internationally recognized
developer of vertical take off and landing aircraft, Moller
International is now offering its M200X, a smaller aircraft designed for
two. The M200X is a working prototype that successfully demonstrates the
capabilities of what Dr. Paul Moller calls a “volantor”,
a quick and nimble flying vehicle.
Among the many safety features of the M200X volantor are a highly
redundant multiple Rotapower®
rotary engine propulsion system along with a computerized artificial
stabilization system. The computer-controlled aircraft is easy to fly
while being highly maneuverable. The M200X has completed over 200
flights, including remotely piloted flights, as well as tethered and
untethered flights with an on-board pilot. While most flights were
tethered it was never necessary to use this safeguard during any
significant flight of the M200X, which was a remarkable measure of the
aircraft’s reliability.
Moller International is a fully reporting public company and holds over
40 patents in transportation-related technologies. It has completed
contracts with the National Air and Space Administration (NASA), Defense
Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), California Department of
Transportation (CALTRANS), US Army Research Laboratory, the US Navy and
US Air Force.
Additional information on the M200X is available from the Company via
its website, www.moller.com.
