MSSI News MSSI Appoints Robert Murphy as Chief Operating Officer
VIENNA, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 7, 2005--MSSI (OTCBB:MSSI), an established provider of medical personnel, technology services and homeland security products to government and commercial clients, announced today the appointment of Mr. Robert Murphy to Chief Operating Officer of MSSI, effective January 1, 2006.
Mr. Murphy will be in charge of the operations of MSSI. MSSI currently operates through its two wholly-owned subsidiaries, Nurses Onsite Corp. (NOC), formerly doing business as Nurses PRN, LLC (NPRN), and TeleScience International, Inc. (TII). NOC primarily services MSSI's commercial customers, and TII primarily services MSSI's government customers through its Medical Systems and its Technology Divisions. In his new role, Mr. Murphy will be responsible for the operations of both subsidiaries.
Prior to being acquired by MSSI, Mr. Murphy's company, NPRN, grew into a $26 million operation from its inception in July 2002. NPRN spun off approximately half of its operations to a private equity group in December 2004 and the remainder was acquired by MSSI earlier this year. NOC currently services the top three hospital chains in the country: HCA, Tenet and Catholic Health West, as well as smaller chains and independent hospitals.
From 1987 to 1994, Mr. Murphy built his prior health-staffing firm, CareMed Management Systems, Inc. (CMS), into one of the largest home health care and medical staffing agencies in South Florida. After selling CMS to National Health Care Affiliates (NHCA) in 1994, he was appointed Vice President of Operations for NHCA, formerly a $136 million temporary nurse staffing and long-term care provider headquartered in Buffalo, New York. In 1996, Mr. Murphy founded and served as President of Staff Force, a traditional staffing and recruiting firm located in South Florida. He sold Staff Force in 2000 to Teleforce, a call center staffing firm also headquartered in South Florida. In July 2002, he founded NPRN, which MSSI acquired in July 2005.
Dr. B.B. Sahay, President and CEO of MSSI said, "Bob Murphy has a proven track record for growing successful companies. He has assembled a team of extremely talented people in Nurses Onsite. I have charged him now with the responsibility of further merging the TII and NOC teams to maximize complimentary talents and identifying economies of scale. I believe that MSSI can benefit greatly from his vision and leadership. Effective January 1st, I am appointing him Chief Operating Officer of MSSI."
Mr. Murphy, current President of NOC said, "I am honored to accept this new role and look forward to engaging immediately in leading the day to day operations of MSSI. Collectively, I believe the talent we have on our teams will provide the depth of expertise necessary to achieve our 2006 goals. We are anxious to get started January 1st."
