NCTI News Siemens Distributes Artera Group Technology and Products; Evaluations Conducted by Siemens Confirm Artera Group Claims of Speed Improvement and Bandwidth Reduction

WESTPORT, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 6, 2005--Artera Group, Inc., a subsidiary of NCT Group, Inc. (OTCBB: NCTI), today announced that Siemens plc, one of the world's largest companies, has signed an agreement to distribute Artera Group technology and products under the name Siemens Bandwidth Accelerator. Siemens is focused primarily on large-scale service providers and enterprises and will bundle and integrate Artera Group technology as a component of its comprehensive expertise to create complete, customized solutions for its customers. Artera Group will receive a monthly share of the service revenue generated by worldwide sales of the Siemens Bandwidth Accelerator.

"Artera Group's technology will underpin some exciting, new integrated solutions based upon the cross-divisional capabilities of Siemens with initiatives spearheaded from the United Kingdom," said Gordon Carmichael, Director, Siemens One.

The agreement provides Siemens with worldwide distribution access being initiated in the UK, with primary focus on the communications and media market sectors. Siemens will utilize Artera Group technology to optimize both private and public networks for each target market to deliver faster speeds and bandwidth savings to their customers and to enable early adoption of new Internet protocol applications and services into key markets.

"It is our expectation that teaming with Siemens will greatly help Artera Group exploit the market potential of its technology," said Michael J. Parrella, Chairman and CEO, Artera Group. "We believe that Artera Group's technology will increase Siemens' competitive advantage in all of its markets. Given Siemens' business strength in Europe, the focus of our initial business development efforts, we expect to realize substantial distribution results in that region. We are proud to be working in partnership with such an innovative company."

In order to validate Artera Group technology, Siemens along with other related business partners such as Fujitsu Siemens commissioned Roke Manor Research, Siemens' independent testing facility, to perform a complete and rigorous analysis of the Artera Group technology's performance. The results indicate that, for web content, Siemens Bandwidth Accelerator shows substantial benefits over unaccelerated browsing, in terms of both measured (time-to-display "TTD") data rate and traffic volume through the network. The headline performance improvement figure for measured TTD data rate is around 5 to 5.5 times for slow ISP connections, dropping off slightly to a still respectable 3+ times for 1Mbps connections. For example, a home user with a 56K dial-up modem would perceive that his or her modem has been speeded to over 250kbps. In addition (and more significant at high connection speeds), the data volume flowing over the connection is reduced by around 80%.
