PKTX News ProtoKinetix Takes Major Step Towards AAGP(TM) Commercialization
VANCOUVER, British Columbia--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 12, 2006--Dr. John Todd, President and CEO of ProtoKinetix, Inc. (OTCBB:PKTX), announces that the Company has entered into an agreement with the University of Bordeaux to conduct third party evaluations on UV protection provided by AAGP(TM). The University of Bordeaux, France, is recognized as one of the world's leading institutions in the study of UV protection. ProtoKinetix has, to date, completed extensive testing on human skin cells using the extremely harsh UV-C radiation. As previously reported, PKTX has received definitive confirmation of AAGP(TM) protection against UV-C.
The skin care and sun protection industries require testing to be conducted on the far softer ultra-violet bands of UV-A and UV-B. The University of Bordeaux will provide an exhaustive regimen of testing and the resultant data to present to these industries as a pre-requisite for formulation into consumer product lines.
In addition to the AAGP(TM) stand-alone testing, the University with be doing comparative and inter-mix formulations with Avo-Benzone and Co-Enzyme Q-10. Upon the satisfactory conclusion of these tests of the anti-aging properties of AAGP(TM), the Company believes that AAGP(TM) may become an integral component of skin care and sun protection compounds.
