PKTX News Protokinetix Announces Current Test Results Strongly Support NSAID Properties of AAGP(TM)
VANCOUVER, British Columbia--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ProtoKinetix, Inc. (OTCBB:PKTX) announces new results that add
strength to evidence of AAGP™’s
powerful anti-inflammatory action. ITTEC Stem’s
laboratory has completed a series of tests to determine the
anti-inflammatory abilities of AAGP™. The
protective qualities of AAGP™ have been well
established under a wide variety of hostile stimuli. In the experiments
where AAGP™ was NOT present during the
radiation treatment, but added AFTER, the results strongly
indicate cellular reparation ability.
The protocol for this program used embryonic skin fibroblasts exposed to
the extreme UVC radiation produced by a Spectrolinker™.
Forty-eight hours after UVC exposure, the post radiation treated cells
were counted at 112% viability. This suggests that AAGP™
not only maintains cell viability and integrity, but also allows these
cells to maintain normal cellular function and growth. In contrast, the
untreated cells, as expected, had declined to 64% viability being
totally incapable of maintaining a healthy functioning colony of cells.
Dr. Michael Palumbro, of ITTEC, suggests that the reparative effect of
AAGP™ after UVC exposure strongly indicates
that AAGP™ enters the cells and produces long
lasting effects on the signaling mechanisms responsible for cell
survival and/or repair. If correct, this means that AAGP™
could be the base platform for a whole new family of NSAIDs (Non
Steroidal Anti Inflammatory Drugs)
