Consumer Electronics Maker Becomes First Licensee of 2008
Patriot Scientific Corporation (OTCBB:PTSC) announced today that Humax
Corporation, Ltd. has purchased a Moore Microprocessor Patent™
(MMP) Portfolio license. Humax manufactures and distributes a broad
range of digital set top box, LCD television and satellite radio
products.
“In just the first week of 2008, we’re
proud to welcome Humax to the long and distinguished roster of MMP
licensees,” said Jim Turley, president and CEO
of Patriot Scientific. “The company’s
products are ubiquitous and user-friendly, and I like to think that our
technology played a part in that success.”
“The MMP Portfolio Licensing Program continues
its rapid growth, with Humax being the tenth new licensee in just the
past month,” said Rick Schutte, vice
president of Intellectual Property for Alliacense, Patriot’s
exclusive licensing partner. “Licensing
activity has increased dramatically in the past month, most likely due
to the successful Markman ruling and its settlement with the remaining
defendants in the MMP patent infringement case in Texas.”
The sweeping scope of applications using MMP Portfolio design techniques
continues to encourage the world’s leading
manufacturers of end-user products from around the globe to become MMP
Portfolio licensees. Since January 2006 more than 30 global companies
from the U.S., Europe, Japan, Korea and Taiwan have purchased MMP
Portfolio licenses.
